Course Description

This unit introduces learners to the fundamental concepts of critical thinking and innovation within a professional context. It is designed for individuals from diverse industry backgrounds who wish to strengthen their soft skills to improve decision-making, problem-solving, and idea generation in the workplace. In this module, learners will explore how logic and reflective thinking support effective problem-solving and will be introduced to practical tools such as mind mapping, SCAMPER, and other creative techniques. Emphasis will be placed on developing the ability to challenge assumptions, overcome creative blocks, and contribute meaningfully to team-based innovation. Through real-life examples and structured reflective frameworks, learners will gain insight into how critical thinking enhances the evaluation of ideas while innovation encourages flexible, original, and practical solutions. By the end of the module, learners will be better equipped to lead or support creative initiatives within their teams and organisations. This module encourages participants to develop a mindset that not only questions norms but also embraces continuous improvement and innovation as key drivers for workplace success.
