Award in Interior Design and Decoration III

Course Description

In this unit the learner will become familiar with different areas concerning Interior Design and Decoration. Not only at home but they will have a better understanding different areas such commercial premises and as well exterior such terraces and landscaping. In the first and second unit of the previous courses were more targeted on general rules, more one should do and not, and some visual tricks. In this unit the learner will understand better the importance of materials/ finishes which also include the choices of colours and textures: space in retail areas vis a vie at home. In this unit the learner will be become alert more on the communication skill in interior design and decoration. Since the learner have already learnt how to do perspective, now the learner will also experience different medias such as detailing and different other methods how to present their own projects on paper and boards.

Learning Outcomes

1. Identify the different types of materials and finishes required for interior decorations.
2. Understand the different visual communication methods and techniques used to design features and ideas for interior and exterior projects.
3. Design a retail space for a clothes shop.
4. Design a terrace or a landscaping area of a residential property.
