Study Programme Description:

This course is intended to enhance interior design and decoration studies, by using more advance aids such as visual aids techniques. Additionally, this course explores different techniques from 2D to 3D modelling, apply materials, lighting, rendering and manipulate images in design in digital format which is important in today’s industry.

This award will also introduce the student to the most important basic skills in CGI. The student will produce interior design projects in digital world and build a portfolio with his/ her designs.

 

The techniques and tools that will be covered:

  • Understanding commands in 2D interface
  • Organisation of work using layers
  • Understanding lineweights and different linetypes
  • Present Plans and elevations in digital format
  • Creating 3D shapes
  • Using materials and different mapping techniques
  • Applying UVW mapping on 3D model
  • Understanding basic concept of lighting
  • Understanding cameras
  • Rendering process and postproduction

 

The student will learn how to use various tools such as 2D and 3D using two different programmes such as Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk 3Ds MAX. The student will learn a whole process to present work in digital way.

Students enrolled in the course will be working within a group and sharing lab facilities with other leaners.

  • Carry out work in 2D interface, such as plans, elevations and converting plans into pdf format
  • Use appropriate tools using layers, linetypes, lineweights and learn drawing conventions
  • Identify techniques of 3D space such as modelling, texture, lighting and rendering process techniques
  • Present a professional portfolio including documentation of works as proof of increasingly personalized designs while displaying advanced technical skills.
