Course Description

This unit provides a solid foundation in video editing principles and techniques. Students will gain hands-on experience with non-linear editing software, mastering essential skills such as importing and organizing media, cutting and splicing video clips, adding transitions and effects, and adjusting audio levels. By the end of this unit, students will be able to create basic video projects and understand the fundamental building blocks of video editing.

LO1: Outline fundamentals of video and video editing software.

LO2: Use non-linear editing software to organize video files and edit video sequences.

LO3: Apply basic transitions, motion graphics and effects to enhance the visual quality of video editing projects.

LO4: Export video projects to various platforms (e.g., web, television, social media) while showcasing good understanding of settings and formats.
