Course Description
This course aims to provide the required training for candidates to be able to operate any pleasure/recreational vessel operating non-commercially and under 24 metres of length, including towing any person for the purpose of skiing or any water sports leisure articles, equipped with an engine or engines of 30HP or more.
Following the successful completion of the examination with Transport Malta, candidates are required to apply for the issuance of the Nautical License within twelve (12) months form the date of the examination.
Applicants holding a proof of the completion certificate stamped and signed by TM examiner may submit their application online by visiting Training & Certification Unit Application Forms for the Issuance of a Nautical License by Transport Malta.

LO3 : Recognise the best practices for basic medical first aid and fire-fighting techniques

LO5 : Operate a boat in the best and safe techniques
This course is open to the public with minimum 18 years of age.

*A copy of the medical form (section 9 only ) needs to be sent to us on [email protected] when paying for the course
*The ORIGINAL medical form needs to be presented at TM offices when applying for the exam.
*A 100% attendance record is necessary
*At the end of the course, candidates will be called for their Practical Test. A Completion Letter will be issued by the College upon successful completion of the Practical Test and 100% attendance.
*The Completion Letter is required to apply for a Transport Malta Nautical Licence Oral Examination to drive a power driven vessel. The successful outcome of the Oral Examination administered by Transport Malta Examiners by appointment is then used by the successful candidates to apply for the physical Transport Malta Nautical Licence (similar to a Driving Licence).
When applying on-line, you are affirming that in SECTION 9 – Certification of the Transport-Malta-Template Fitness Certificate, your Medical Practitioner endorsing this same Certificate has certified you ‚ as Fit To Operate A Motor Vessel.
If you wish to book in person at our offices at MCAST Paola – 1st‚ Floor – Student House, you need to present your Certificate to allow staff taking your booking to ascertain this requirement has been met.
An Original Certificate will be requested by Transport Malta when applying for the Nautical Licence. Every applicant therefore is fully responsible to provide Transport Malta with the duly completed and endorsed Original Fitness Certificate as and when required.
Therefore, any person who wishes to send a booking by post should‚ NOT‚ send the original certificate to accompany the Application Form.
Any copies of Certificates received at our offices will be eliminated immediately upon confirmation that your Medical Practitioner has Certified and endorsed you as ‚ Fit To Operate A Motor Vessel in SECTION 9 – Certification of the Transport-Malta-Template Fitness Certificate‚
