Basic First Aid

Course Description

This is a 4 Hour course

In this course students will become familiar with the following:

• • Introduction

• • First Aider

• • DRABC

• • CPR

• • Choking

• • Poisoning

• • Bleeding

• • Shock

• • Burns and Scalds

• • Eye injuries

• • Heart Attack

• • Strokes

• • Epilepsy

• • Managing bone, joint and muscle injuries

• • Hypothermia and treatment

• • Materials / Equipment

• • Treatment

Applicants should be 16 years of age and over

An MCAST certificate will be awarded to those students who have attended 80% and more of the lectures and passed the examinations

There are no tests and assessments however the course includes Progress evaluation

All consumables needed during the course are provided by MCAST
