Finding clothing that fits our bodies perfectly is a difficult one! Ready-to-wear collections tend to feature loose-fitting bodices, while very few classic fitted tops are made of non-stretch material. This is because it is extremely difficult to design a model that is suitable for every unique body.
In this course we will learn how to take accurate body measurements for sizing. We will identify differences in body types and determine which basic bodice block patterns and styles to use accordingly. We will construct basic pattern blocks for our personal size and shape as well as for industry standard sizes.
This course is hands-on and will be delivered in person, with full class instruction as well as 1:1 focus.
This garment assembly course is for individuals who sew at home as well as for those who want to improve their skills in pattern cutting and sewing in order to pursue a career in the garment industry. For students who are new to sewing, it is strongly recommended to sign up for Award in Garment Assembly – Skirts first because it will support them in developing introductory skills in sewing.
