N.B. Kindly note that applicants will be requested to register for their attendance on Classter. Failure to achieve the full enrolment will entitle the lecturer to exclude student from classes and no certification can be issued. A minimum attendance of 70% is required for certification attainment.

This is a 4 Hour course

 

During this course students will become familiar with the following:

 

 

    • Chemistry of fire

 

    • Classification of fires

 

    • Methods of extinction

 

    • Fire extinguishers

 

    • Using Hoses and Nozzles

 

    • Care of Hoses and Nozzles

 

    • Moving through fire areas

 

    • Breathing Apparatus (when appropriately required)

 

 

Applicants should be 16 years of age and over

 

An MCAST certificate will be awarded to those students who have attended 80% and more of the lectures.

 

There are no tests or assessments, however the course includes Progress evaluation

 

All consumables needed during the course are provided by MCAST
