Course Description
Psychological factors play a crucial role in athletic performance, influencing motivation, confidence, focus, and resilience. This course explores fundamental psychological practices used by sports psychologists to enhance performance, assess athletes, and foster positive behavioural changes. By understanding key psychological tools, tests, and theories, students will be equipped with the knowledge to support athletes in optimising their mental approach to sports. This course is ideal for coaches, athletes, sports professionals, and anyone interested in the intersection of psychology and athletic performance.
Learners will develop a basic understanding of key psychological principles in sports, including the use of psychological tools, personality traits, and behaviour change approaches. They will be able to recognise how these factors influence athlete performance and development while gaining foundational knowledge of psychological assessments used in sports contexts.
