Course Description

This course explores the practical application of nutrition concepts to promote health, manage dietary needs, and prevent chronic diseases. Students will gain a deep understanding of nutrient functions, dietary requirements, and the role of nutrition in various life stages and health conditions. The course will provide evidence-based approaches to designing, implementing, and evaluating nutrition plans in diverse settings, such as in everyday life, community life, work settings and sports environments.

Through a combination of lectures, case studies and discussions students will develop the skills to analyse dietary patterns, assess nutritional needs, and create personalised nutrition strategies. This course prepares students to address real-world challenges in nutrition and empowers them to make meaningful contributions in the field of health and wellness.

LO2: Carry out basic dietary assessment and balanced eating strategies

Completed Compulsory Education (Demonstrated ability and functional skills in spoken and written English, and basic knowledge of Maths)
