N.B. Kindly note that applicants will be requested to register for their attendance on Classter. Failure to achieve the full enrolment will entitle the lecturer to exclude student from classes and no certification can be issued. A minimum attendance of 70% is required for certification attainment.

 


Course Description

In accordance to the current national and EU legislative provisions as implemented through Subsidiary Legislation 430.08 of the Laws of Malta, Professional Users and Distributors of Plant Protection Products (PPPs) are required to undergo training to acquire sufficient to knowledge regarding the sustainable use of Plant Protection Products.

In this course learners will be trained on the major legislation related to PPPs together with the risks and hazards related to handling, use and storage of these products. The unit will then proceed to cover human and environmental health related to PPPs and how such products should be used safely and efficiently.

*The course includes a Supervised Placement / Practice Hours in a Distributor Outlet.*

Assessments

One or two oral/TCA assessment sessions will be organized to test learner on knowledge, skills and competences attained.

LO1: Understand the implications of the major legislation regulating Plant Protection Products

LO2: Explain risks and hazards associated with handling, use and storage of Plant Protection Products

LO3: Describe how human health and the environment can be safeguarded when utilizing Plant Protection Products

LO4: Understand how professional users can use pesticide application equipment for efficient and safe product application

Entry Requirements

Persons over 16 years of age who are Numerate, and Literate in both Maltese and English.
