Course Description
This course provides learners with the awareness necessary when working in the construction industry.
The unit will highlight the risks involved in the industry so that learners will evaluate and take the required precautions so as to enable them to work safely, efficiently and effectively on building sites.
Holders of the Official Certificate of Competence are eligible to apply for Skills Card related to Health and Safety in the Construction Industry from the BICC offices.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this unit, the learner will be able to:
LO1 – Identify hazards & risks at the workplace
LO2 – Apply the required occupation safety procedures to mitigate against hazards
LO3 – have a general knowledge of the legal obligations that the worker must keep in mind when working in the industry
Applicants should be 16 years of age or older.
