Description
This unit provides learners with foundational knowledge and practical skills in plastering and painting, essential for entry-level roles in the construction industry. It covers the preparation of surfaces, mixing and application of plaster, and the correct use of tools and materials to achieve a professional finish. Learners will also explore painting techniques, including surface priming, paint selection, and application using brushes, rollers, and other equipment. Emphasis is placed on understanding material properties, calculating quantities, and applying industry standards to ensure quality and durability in all tasks.
In addition to technical skills, the unit integrates health and safety practices, focusing on hazard identification, safe handling of materials, and compliance with occupational regulations. Learners will develop competencies in erecting and dismantling simple scaffolding, using personal protective equipment, and maintaining a safe working environment. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on practice, participants will gain confidence in performing plastering and painting tasks independently, preparing them for further training or employment within the construction sector
