Course Description
The unit objectives are to improve the way pointing is applied on the local lime-stone by: better preparation of limes and mortars as recommended by international studies and traditional techniques; by preparing building joints professionally without either taking shortcuts or by over exposing the lime-stone block with aged layers on it unnecessary. Safety requirements for these tasks are integrated as part of the practical tasks.
This course does not cover the safety requirements to work at Construction Sites.
Learning Outcomes:
Pre-Requisites
Applicants must be able to work in a workshop and outside around buildings to do mixing of mortars, pointing and removal of old mortal using scrapers, chisels and chipping hammers.
Entry Requirements
Applicants can understand basic mixing rations. Read basic instructions in Maltese or English
N.B. Kindly note that applicants will be requested to register for their attendance on Classter. Failure to achieve the full enrolment will entitle the lecturer to exclude student from classes and no certification can be issued. A minimum attendance of 70% is required for certification attainment.
