Course Description

This course is aimed at experienced port workers who want to move into supervisory or foreman positions within port and terminal operations.

The course covers:

  • Supervising dock and cargo teams
  • Planning loading and unloading operations
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Health and safety management
  • Risk assessment
  • Port operational procedures
  • Incident reporting
  • Team coordination
  • Work scheduling
  • Basic maritime operational management

The course prepares participants for responsibilities such as:

  • Port Foreman
  • Cargo Operations Supervisor
  • Shift Supervisor
  • Team Leader in terminal operations

Entry Requirements:

  • Letter of Eligibility from Transport Malta
  • Previous experience in port operations or maritime work
  • Good understanding of port safety procedures
  • Basic leadership or supervisory capability
  • English communication skills
