Programme Description
This course is intended for those students who are keen on software development with an inclination towards backend systems and solving complex problems. In this course you will learn how to design software applications based on formal design patterns; design and implement the underlying data infrastructure; model and solve complex real problems whilst following formal methodologies. This course covers Secure Development, Enterprise Software Development, Server Side and Client Side scripting, Discrete Mathematics and other similar modules. This course is intended for individuals who have a keen interest in problem solving, have attention to detail and strive to program efficiently.

Entry Requirements
MCAST Advanced Diploma in IT Recommended: Software Development, Multimedia Software Development, I-Gaming or
– MCAST Advanced Diploma in Electronics (Computer Engineering) or
– 2 A-Level passes and 2 I-Level passes
– Compulsory A-Level: Computing
– Compulsory A-Level or I-Level: Mathematics (Pure or Applied) or Physics
– Recommended: English
Maturity Clause
Be in possession of a School Leaving Certificate.
Have, by the end of the same calendar year attained the age of 23 years.
Demonstrate that they stand to benefit and show that they can follow the programme through an interview held for the purpose and any other possible actions that gauge the applicant’s standing and sound preparation or the chosen programme of studies. An updated‚ Curriculum Vitae‚ and a Motivation Letter should accompany each application.
Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview to assess their suitability for the selected programme. The Maturity Clause Selection Board may require candidates to undertake additional studies as part of their acceptance. The Board may recommend an alternative programme, where it considers appropriate.The Board reserves the right to evaluate the applicant’s competences through an assessment.
Payment terms‚
EU or EEA Nationals – Total course fee 14,500 euro
Non-EU/EEA Nationals – Total course fee 19,500 euro
Refund Policy
1 A full refund of the Fees paid will be issued only where the Programme does not commence within six (6) months of the Student’s first payment.
2 Where the Student fails to satisfy the entry requirements or maturity interview (as confirmed by the MCAST Registrar), the Fees paid to date will be refunded, less a non-refundable administrative fee of €150.
3 The deposit is non-refundable, except where a full refund is due under Point 1.
4 Students holding conditional acceptance who do not meet the final entry requirements are not entitled to a refund and remain liable for the Fees mentioned in their Student Payment Agreement (contract).
