Study Programme Description:
The course will go into detail on the requirements based on CR1/2005 and the requirements regarding TRACES.
Upon successful completion of the award, the student can present the certificate to the VRD who will issue a certificate of competence in line with CR1/2005
Target Audience:
Persons transporting equines for leisure for long distances
Persons transporting equines for leisure for short distances
Persons transporting livestock to a slaughterhouse for long distances
Persons transporting livestock on behalf of a farmer to a slaughterhouse for short distances
Study Programme Learning Outcomes:
LO1: Explain the rules and obligations when transporting live animals
LO2: Outline the role of the Veterinary Regulations Directorate in upholding the provisions of relevant legislation.
LO3: Describe required transport practices and animal provisions during transport.
LO4: Explain the TRACES certification and documentation procedure.
Study Programme Assessment Method:
Take home assignment.
Formative Continuous assessment with constructive feedback on the interpretations of regulations including appropriate vehicles safety and security.
