Course Description

This course‚  is designed for those working within the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry and / or aspiring to work within the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry who need to meet the legal requirements for working with Fluorinated‚  Gases, or‚  FGases, and other ozone depleting substances.

This Course does not award the Category-License issued by MCCAA, but prepares participants who may not have had prior formal training to familiarize themselves with the regulatory requirements and practices of the Category Licenses.

The Course is designed to provide the knowledge and practical skills to undertake leak checking, recovery, installation, servicing and maintenance of stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment containing refrigerants.

Learning Outcomes / Objectives

  • Understand basic thermodynamics related to HVACR
  • Discuss the environmental impact of refrigerants and corresponding environmental regulations
  • Check HVACR system leakage before putting in operation, after a long period of non-use, after maintenance or repair intervention, or during operation
  • Handle systems and refrigerants during installation, maintenance, servicing or recovery in an environmental friendly manner
  • Put into operation HVACR components by installing a leak tight piping system

Pre-Requisites to Follow this Course

  • Over 21 years of Age
  • Basic English writing and understanding.
  • Basic Science
