Programme Details

The Master in Applied Inclusive Practices aims to offer an applied approach towards inclusion. This programme is intended for professionals working in schools, the community and the industry who wish to specialise in inclusion and diversity studies to further their education and career.

Learning Outcomes:

• Evaluate critically inclusion policies and practices.
• Lead inclusively and emotionally in educational and social care settings.
• Integrate interdisciplinary perspectives from psychology, education, sociology, and related fields to better understand the self in roles within educational and care contexts.
• Undertake a practice placement utilising a reflective approach.
• Design and implement intervention strategies to promote inclusivity in educational and social settings as part of an applied intervention project.

Year 1: CSIED-706-2414 Leading with Emotional Intelligence (30 hours)

Year 1:CSIED-709-2417: Meeting the Physical and Psychological Needs of Learners (45hours)

Year 1: CSIED-706-2413: Inclusion Policies and Inclusive Practices (30hours)

Year 1: CSDIS-730-2402: Applied Intervention Project – (Dissertation – Part 1 – Group Lectures (20hours)

Year 2: CSIED-706-2422: Practice Placement Utilising a Reflective Approach (This unit includes a 12-hour industry placement) (30hours)

Year 2: CSIED-706-2420: Advanced Research Methodologies (30hours)

Year 2: CSIED-706-2419: Collaborating Within a Multidisciplinary Team (30hours)

Year 2: CSIED-706-2421: The Self in Roles in Education and Care (30hours)

Year 2: CSIED-706-2418: Working with Students with Cognitive Diversity (30hours)

Year 3: CSDIS-730-2402: Applied Intervention Project (Dissertation – Part 2) (Individual Research) (130hours)

Entry Requirements:

Minimum of 2years relevant working experience

And A First Degree (MQF Level 6) in education, social sciences or a related field.

Payment terms:

EU or EEA Nationals (total course fee 5,500 euro)

• Payment 1: Deposit of 500 euro
• Payment 2: 2,500 euro payment before course commencement
• Payment 3: 2,500euro payment at the beginning of second year

Non-EU/EEA Nationals (total course fee 7,900 euro)

• Payment 1: Deposit of 500 euro
• Payment 2: 3,700 euro payment before course commencement
• Payment 3: 3,700 euro payment at the beginning of second year

Refund Policy

1 A full refund of the Fees paid will be issued only where the Programme does not commence within six (6) months of the Student’s first payment.

2 Where the Student fails to satisfy the entry requirements or maturity interview (as confirmed by the MCAST Registrar), the Fees paid to date will be refunded, less a non-refundable administrative fee of €150.

3 The deposit is non-refundable, except where a full refund is due under Point 1.

4 Students holding conditional acceptance who do not meet the final entry requirements are not entitled to a refund and remain liable for the Fees mentioned in their Student Payment Agreement (contract).
