This course is intended for individuals who are reading for a university degree, or are already in possession of a university degree, and members of academic staff of higher educational institutions. SPSS is a popular software used to represent, summarise, and analyse data. Its simple interface makes it easy for individuals who are not professionally trained in statistics to use statistical techniques. SPSS, makes data analysis for students, academic members of staff, as well as individuals whose job entails dealing with data, seamless and effortless. At this time, no other software courses dealing with quantitative data analysis are offered at MCAST.
Part 1: Summarising Data
Use basic features of SPSS including inputting data, the transform, recode, and select functions.
Use SPSS to visualise and summarise data.
Assess reliability and internal consistency using SPSS.
Use Principal component Analysis in SPSS to reduce dimension of data.
Part 2: Statistical Inference
5-Carry out and interpret an array of parametric and non-parametric tests in SPSS.
6-Perform correlation analysis and linear regression using SPSS.
