As from the 1 July 2012 persons who obtain their driving licence in Category D or D1 (including D+E and D1+E) with the intention of applying for a driver’s permit and tag to drive buses, coaches and/or minibuses shall also be required to obtain an initial qualification leading to the issue of a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) as required by the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations (S.L.65.18). No drivers’ permits and tags to drive these vehicles shall be issued to applicants who do not hold a Driver CPC.
The course is 63 hours long. Tuition will be held at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, MCAST, Paola.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course.
A Certificate will be issued by Transport Malta.
There are no exams with MCAST. Exams will be done through Transport Malta.
Fee covers tuition given by MCAST. Students are encouraged to bring a pen and notepad for note-taking during the training.
