This short course offers individuals interested in basic cutting techniques to understand the theory and hands on behind such practices. Learners will be able to maintain and use basic cutting techniques correctly. This will be based on a correct consultation with the client and also the correct use of equipment keeping in mind health and safety procedures. This course is mainly intended for those students following the City and Guilds Diploma in Hairdressing and also for those hairdressers who would like to refresh their skills.
This is a 20 hr guided learning course. Students need to invest further hours in the course, which will include private study and home assignments.

Course participants may be awarded either an MCAST Certificate of Attendance or an MCAST Certificate of Achievement.

If the student intends to obtain a Certificate of Achievement, she/he is required to sit for an assessment/s. Assessment/s may take various forms such as a home assignment, class assignment, practical test and time constrained test. However, the assessment/s is not compulsory and an applicant may choose not to sit for it.
Students should provide their own mannequin head for the duration of the course.
