Description

The course will introduce learners to freshwater ornamental fishkeeping in home aquaria and breeding of common freshwater fish species. It will give a thorough overview of how to plan, set up and maintain an aquarium, choose the biota for it and how to treat common fish diseases.

The course will also touch upon the breeding of fish and the culture of organisms as live food.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Plan, aquascape and maintain a healthy freshwater home aquarium.
  2. Choose different communities of freshwater fish and live plant species and keep them successfully in home aquaria.
  3. Breed and raise common freshwater ornamental fish and culture freshwater organisms as live-food.

No pre-requisites and/or entry requirements are required.

An MCAST Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to those candidates who attend at least 80% of the lessons
