Course Description
This MCAST Top-Up Degree in Inclusive Education is designed to offer a progression route to learners who have completed the 20 and 30 week certificates in Inclusive Education and who wish to pursue their studies further towards a full 180 ECTS degree programme. This top-up will provide additional training to learners in knowledge, skills and competences that are required when providing learning support in inclusive classrooms, developing their ability to understand and meet diverse educational needs as they further explore their roles and responsibilities as Learning Support Educators who are instrumental in ensuring school wide inclusive practices. Moreover, they will also learn how to conduct research using methods and techniques that are specific to the inclusive education field. Ultimately, learners shall be supported to develop a more holistic critical approach that will enable them to analyse the barriers that need to be overcome in order to provide all students with quality education.

Programme Learning Outcomes
At the end of the programme the learner will be able to:
Understand diverse educational needs to address the realistic experiences of different individuals;
Investigate different challenges in providing inclusive educational support for individual needs;
Apply and implement an inclusive approach based on sociological, philosophical and psychological understanding of an inclusive educational environment;
Be confident in using research tools and effective writing techniques that can be specifically applied in the inclusive education domain.
Entry Requirements
Award in Inclusive Education (10 week course)
AND
Certificate in Inclusive Education for Learning Support Educators (K/A 20 week course)
AND
Higher Certificate in Inclusive Education (K/A 30 week course)
OR
Diploma in Facilitating Inclusive Education from the University of Malta – minimum 60 ECTS Credits
Other Entry Requirements
Students must possess a clean Police conduct certificate.
