This unit is intended to provide the learner with a high level of information regarding architectural drafting skills while producing detailed and annotated drawings related to residential and light commercial buildings in line with local building regulations and sanitary laws.
The student is expected to present 90% of the drawings drawn in class at the end of this unit. Also, each student must present a project of his / her own design and labour consisting of a set of drawings as agreed upon with the lecturer.
This project must reflect a high standard of technical knowledge in building construction, sanitary laws, regulations and architectural drawing techniques.
This is a 60 hrs of guided learning course. Students need to invest further hours in the course, which will include private study and home assignments.

Course participants may be awarded either an MCAST Certificate of Attendance or an MCAST Certificate of Achievement.

If the student intends to obtain a Certificate of Achievement, she/he is required to sit for an assessment/s. Assessment/s may take various forms such as a home assignment, class assignment, practical test and time constrained test. However, the assessment/s is not compulsory and an applicant may choose not to sit for it.
