Course Description:

This course is intended for individuals already involved in training or aspiring to provide training, in diverse learning environments, in future.

This course presents learners with the fundamental aspects to develop quality teaching practices and assessment methodologies to meet the needs of the students in different VET learning environments. Learners are given an opportunity to review different learning styles and to be able to apply different teaching and training methods to facilitate learning for diverse students. This unit also provides training in the use of a student-centred approach in the choice of delivery and assessment methods and tools. Furthermore, learners will be introduced to the key features of programme specifications and related quality processes.

Finally, learners will be able to reflect on their delivery within the context of quality concepts in education.

Learning Outcomes:

 On completion of this unit the learner will be able to:

1. Discuss the role of vocational education and training in today’s contemporary context.
2. Prepare and deliver training sessions targeting specific audiences.
3. Assess teaching and learning for continuous improvement.
4. Apply appropriate procedures within the context of established quality assurance standards.  

Eligibility Criteria:

Completed MQF Level 4 qualification.
